I never do sneak peeks before a client’s viewing, because I want to keep the magic going and I want my clients to have first sight of their portraits before posting. Here I am making an exception a) because I love it and b) because it will be a while still till Raaesa sees her final edited images.

This is Raaesa, and she is beautiful!
And this is my new posing wall, I didn’t Stand after all for this series, my nerves got the better of me, but I am love with this moody look and feel on my textured suede wall with directional natural light. It has it’s own look and feel and for me, well I love creating interesting portraits. I will post a flat natural light image next, so you can see the difference in styles.

Book your maternity sessions ladies! I love shooting bumps

My Annual Portrait Session 2017

Every winter, when my studio is a bit quieter, I do a portrait session of myself. This is my third session since my strokes in 2012, I was too ill and not in the right emotional space for the first two years after, but I am emotionally equipped now, and I am feeling more beautiful than I ever have in the last 5 years. Yes I am older now, maybe not as thin, it’s ok.

My sessions are a celebration of this incredible journey I am on, I get stronger each year, and my purpose of surviving is becoming clearer.
Because I did not feel beautiful myself, all I want to do with my life is show all women, just how beautiful they are.

Yes, I was nervous. Yes I felt shy. Yes I didn’t know how I was going to pose this slightly broken body.
Yes I felt beautiful! Yes I managed! Yes I feel empowered as a woman!

Here is my before and after.
This is my favourite portrait of myself to date. I think I will make this an extra large canvas for Studio.
Tracey was on set to make me pretty (She really is amazing) and get the shot after we found ways to pose me.

Book us for your glamour session ladies, you won’t regret it!

Let us show you how beautiful you actually are.

If I can feel beautiful, so can you!!!!

Much Love,
Ursula. T

I have had a very exciting few weeks in my studio. So Exciting that I haven’t posted here for a while, I seem to be migrating to facebook posts, if you don’t follow me there yet, please do; here is the link:

Tuesday this week, I had the absolute honour of doing a portrait session for Samantha Cowen (from radio 702), we will be doing a radio interview session next week too, which will be aired. I hate the sound of my voice by the way, but I have a beautiful story to share, and I have a purpose after surviving my strokes, so I will do it with love and gratitude to Samantha –  for the opportunity I am eternally grateful!

Sam is amazing, and beautiful down to her very core, in between the chats, laughs and selfies, a very real, down to earth personality was apparent. We did a natural Sam and a glam Sam session – both equally beautiful!

Hannelie burger was on set doing hair and makeup (beautifully!) and Tracey, my new studio partner (more about this later)

I will let you all know when you can listen in, but for today a few behind the scenes before pics:

two naughty children:I will be posting Samantha’s portraits next week, so keep a look out.

PS: I love my little studio, my life and the very amazing woman I get to meet and photograph constantly..

Come try me for a session? it WILL change the way you see yourself, I promise!

This is Ceasar, a pet portrait session which was a birthday gift for his daddy.

I must admit I was a little intimidated when I first met him. He is HUGE! But after a quick introduction, and lots of slobbery kisses, I knew we would be fine.

My studio is a humble country cottage, and it works for pets here, so why not bring yours along for a portrait session and a fun outing?

Now it is not that easy creating portraits of pets, because they are excitable and don’t really like to sit and pose. I think I did alright here.

What a magnificent specimen of doberman Ceasar is. He was so good!

My latest Pet Portrait shoot, I love animals, and because I am in a country studio, it makes it pet friendly.

I love my life, and if you love your pets as much as I do, then you should capture them in a pet portrait with me.

Black and White Classic

I had time this week to “play” a little in photoshop, and I found a black and white action that I haven’t used before and thought I would try them out. For me black and white never ages, nor goes out of fashion, it can make a beautiful colour photo, look simply classic…. I found a few more crackers from Gabi and Llewlyn’s wedding at The Cradle and thought I would try them out…. here they are, hope you like em :)…..www.ursulatocikphotography.co.za
