Samantha Cowen

My Day with Samantha Cowen:

We started with a viewing of Sam’s portraits, before, behind the scenes and edited portraits. Sam was smiling from ear to ear! They truly are beautiful.
A microphone and recorder was then set up for my interview for 702, and my nerves were shot. I dislike my voice, but Sam has a beautiful way about how she leads questions and all I could do was be myself. You must know that my stroke brain had to concentrate extra to not only understand her questions, but answer as best as I could. I kept on forgetting what she asked me lol
During my interview, Leo (my puppy) decided to grab Sam’s knitted scarf and make a dash for it, outside into the leaves and dirt. It was hilarious watching Sam making the scarf rescue, and bringing it back in looking a pile of leaves as opposed to a piece of clothing. He later on tried stealing stealing her boots and then her handbag, which was very ambitious of him, because he is so tiny in comparison. I think Leo was trying to make me relax by giving us a laugh.
The interview was 2 hours long, which will obviously be edited before going to air (I will keep you all posted)
Sam’s closing statement to me was”in twenty years Ursula, I have never had such beautiful photographs, you are so clever!”
She is amazing, down to earth and quite hilarious actually.
Oh and I got a beautiful bouquet of roses – how sweet?
for those that did not see my Facebook page, here is Sam’s before and after,

little bit of info on a session:

A portrait session with me takes 2 – 6 hours, and I always try at least two different looks per session.

We do a wardrobe consult before shooting, and advise what to wear. I always chuckle at the panic before shoot day “What must I wear?” “What must I bring?”. I am planning on bringing wardrobe into studio to try solve this epidemic us ladies seem to have, but for now, it’s bring what you love to wear, and as I am a bit of a jackdaw and love glam, you cannot go wrong in an evening dress (even I have an evening dress – this jeans and takkies country girl lol)

For Sam, we did a combination of formal and Glam Sam. Both looks equally beautiful. Hannelie was on set throughout to change makeup and hair, and it was magical.

Here is a pic to illustrate.

Ladies book your session, we all need a professional profile these days and while we are at it, let’s chuck in a bit of glam or underwear

Here is Sam:
